The Woman at the Well: a Story of Healing Love

Retreat Option 1: How do we glorify God? Does God expect us to do something dramatic, outside the scope of our normal, everyday lives? In the gospel story of the woman at the well, we meet a spiritual seeker like ourselves. We see Jesus asking the woman to give him what is at hand, a simple drink of water. In return Jesus offers her living water. The ‘water’ Jesus gives is grace and spiritual healing, now ours through the power of God’s love. Fueled by this love, we desire more and more to follow Jesus in service, work and family life. Can we glorify God in the simple things of daily life and find the secret to holiness and joy? Includes performance monologue, and Power Point presentation.

Revitalizing Our Spiritual Life: the Bible and the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius.

Retreat Option 2: We may read and study the Bible often, but the Word of God is about more than head knowledge. The Spirit invites us to draw nearer to the central figure of the Bible lessons and stories—to Jesus—to learn: what does the Word mean for me? Ignatius teaches us to pray using the imagination and points to help us focus our energy on the Person of Christ and to allow the Mystery of his life connect with the mystery of our lives. This personal and direct encounter with the Lord is essential to the process of conversion. For anyone whose prayer has become dry or routine, or who simply wants to grow. Includes prayer practices, a power point and facilitated discussion.
